As announced on November 7, Oracle is making Jipher, a Java Cryptography Architecture (JCA) provider optimised for security and speed, available to the public. Jipher is utilised by the company’s cloud platform.
Jipher was created for settings that have to adhere to Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140. Jipher has significantly increased performance for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), according to Oracle. The technology to enable Java applications based on Project Panama will be made available as open source via the OpenJDK. The goal of Project Panama is to create interfaces between native code and the JVM.
