UPS Inc. has inaugurated its biggest warehouse, a sprawling 20-acre complex outside of Louisville, Kentucky. However, don’t anticipate the break room to grow very busy.
By the next year, the $79 million facility owned by the big package handling company will be fully automated, with over 3,000 robots doing activities like lifting and lowering the need for human labour. UPS can operate the warehouse with just 200 employees thanks to this degree of automation; but, that number is anticipated to rise with time.
