With the latest scam discovered by cybersecurity experts Malwarebytes, hackers are growing more inventive with their harmful Google Ads campaigns. This means that even more watchful visitors may fall for it and unintentionally download malware.
Hackers have been observed disseminating malware by pretending to be the KeePass password manager. They started by building a website that resembles the real KeePass offering nearly exactly and then providing a download for a programme that seems and feels authentic.
But in this instance, the programme would also include the PowerShell script linked to the malware loader known as FakeBat, thereby making the endpoint vulnerable.
